Synthetic fleece was originally produced in the 80s to mimic the sheep's fleece, whose structure is naturally adept at keeping the wearer extremely warm. As a contrast to animal fleece, the synthetic fibres were lightweight and dry extremely quickly, giving the fleece a practical and versatile edge over sweatshirts and knits as a mid-layer. We wanted to produce a mid-layer that could we worn over t-shirts and layered under jackets as the autumn to winter transition progresses.
